Early Years { Nursery - Grade 2 }

For the complete development of children, it is essential that they receive a strong educational foundation from their early years. At HKS International Residential School, the foundation stage spans five years and offers a flexible, multi-level, activity-based learning environment guided by the ECCE curriculum. This stage caters to children aged 3–8 years. Before Class I, children experience three months of play-based readiness sessions, followed by two years of structured yet exploratory learning in Grades 1–2.

The programme includes a wide range of tools and resources that help educators assess and understand each child’s learning progress in alignment with developmentally appropriate learning statements. Continuous formative assessment—through observation, documentation, and evidence-gathering—is central to our approach, ensuring every learner receives personalised support.

Primary School { Grade 3 - 5 }

The preparatory stage at HKS International Residential School emphasises play, exploration, and activity-based learning integrated with a thoughtful pedagogical and curricular design. This stage includes children aged 8–11 years in Grades 3–5. Learning is supported with light, concept-oriented textbooks and interactive classroom practices that strengthen reading, writing, speaking, physical development, and creativity. Middle School { Grade 6-8 }

The middle stage is a transformative phase in a student’s educational journey. At HKS International Residential School, we ensure learners experience deeper, more abstract concepts across subjects such as science, mathematics, arts, social sciences, and humanities. Our teaching methodology is interactive, experiential, and competency-based, designed to help students apply knowledge meaningfully. This stage also introduces hands-on learning through vocational crafts, skill-based modules, and “ten less bag days.” Students explore modern and future-ready subjects including app development, coding, AI, handicrafts, and more—boosting creativity, problem-solving, and innovation.

High School { Grade 9-10 }

The secondary stage at HKS International Residential School is designed to sharpen critical thinking, deepen subject expertise, and help students shape their future aspirations. With a multi-disciplinary learning framework, students have the flexibility to select combinations that align with their interests—for example, choosing mathematics as a core subject and music as an optional, or vice versa. This phase also enables learners to explore vocational pathways with the flexibility to exit and re-enter courses as needed. Cultural exchange programmes and specialised modules—including unique studies such as tribal ethnomedicinal practices—further broaden students’ global and cultural understanding.

Senior Secondary { Grade 11-12 }

At HKS International Residential School, the Senior Secondary stage (Grade 11-12) provides specialized coaching for top competitive exams such as NEET, JEE, KCET, with a focus on all required subjects. Students benefit from well-equipped labs in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science, enabling hands-on learning and practical excellence. The Language Stream offers in-depth courses in English, Kannada, Hindi and Sanskrit, emphasizing literature, communication, and grammar.
